Thank you for your interest in the Madison Fire Department’s Emergency Services National Academy.
Our 2026 cohort is currently full. We are, however, accepting individuals for the waitlist for the 2026 cohort, as well as for the next cohort scheduled to begin in February 2027.
We invite you to complete the interest survey using the link provided. Submission of this form will place you on the waitlist. A member of our team will review your information and contact you as positions become available or as we approach the next enrollment period.

Your application must include digital copies (.docx, .png, .jpg, .pdf) of your:
- State and/or National Registry licenses
- CPR certification
- Immunization records
- Driver’s license
- Health insurance card
- Any record of any state EMT skills modules acquired
- Placement Approval Form
After receiving your application, you will be contacted by the Paramedic Program Director to schedule an interview via Zoom.
After the interview, you will be notified whether or not you have been accepted into the program.
If accepted into the program, prior to starting classes in February, you will need to:
Pay for the program in full, or have an approved payment plan in place*
Register for a Complio Student Account and complete the following:
- Drug test
- Criminal History background check
These MUST be completed before the start of classes in February.
Please note that it may take up to 60 days to complete both the drug test and criminal history background check.
Students must also complete an Anatomy & Physiology course within 90 days of the start of the program. If you haven’t already taken an approved course, MFD ESNA provides access to an online course for the cost of the required book (approximately $100.00).
*All payment plans include a minimum down payment of $2000 prior to the start of the program.
